The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Patty and D0lph’s special day is the amount of love in the air. To top it all off, a rainbow appeared over the bride and groom right after they tied the knot. The rainbow has long symbolized peace and serenity, and is often seen as the sun reappears after the rain. Seeing this rainbow is believed to be a sign of good things to come. 

Patty and D0lph’s day took place on a beautiful, one-of-a-kind private property in Old Del Mar. It started with a welcome reception by the labyrinth, accompanied with live music. Guests were invited to the ceremony using an ancient-style gong. 

As the bridal party lined up, the groom gave me a countdown clock that the bride had previously given to him. It was so accurate, that it ended up zeroing out as soon as the bride began to walk down the aisle of pink and white petals. 

The wedding bands were displayed hanging on a string on the arch under which the bride and groom got married. 

After the ceremony, guests were moved back to the labyrinth to enjoy a second cocktail hour, where more live music was playing. It was a relaxing atmosphere as children played on the swing hanging from the big tree and guests enjoyed yummy appetizers.  

 

Meanwhile, the ceremony area was flipped into the reception site. Tables were dressed with royal blue linen and hemstitched napkins and off-white runners. The table setting was complimented by cross-back chairs and clear and gold hammer rimmed charger plates. At each place setting, a tiny box of chocolate was provided which was a big hit among the guests. The warm purple flowers accented the table along with glowing candles, to give a touch of the bride’s favorite color. Deep purple uplight highlighted the arches and gave more depth to the exotic garden in which the event took place.  

As guests enjoyed dinner, the rainbow sitting above them embellished the night sky, adding the the ambiance of the evening. As the night progressed, the hanging market lights became visible as they lit up the surrounding garden.

What distinguished this event was the appearance of the rainbow, which serves as a sign of hope in the form of light at the end of the tunnel.
