Heather & Sasha’s Modern University Club Wedding
Heather and Sasha’s day was so special. Their vibrant colors, personal touches, and venue made it a wedding to remember! They had the entire downtown San Diego as backdrop, a view that only University Club, atop the Symphony Towers could truly provide.
Siegel Thurston Photography took the incredible images for the day. They are so talented at what they do, and we are so excited to share their images with you from this beautiful city wedding.
Adele from Flowers on 56 provided the florals for this event. The use of green is so on trend and provided color to the urban backdrop. Focusing on those pops of green and tons of texture, she added Kale and green Mums, and plenty of leafy foliage to the maid of honor bouquet. She continued that green color in the reception.
For the bridal bouquet, boutonnieres, and flower crown, she kept it to white and cream colors. This was truly a combination of modern and fresh, with touches of sweet feminine accents.
The ceremony was held on the dance floor, which made for an easy transition to the reception area for the guests. The venue, The University Club atop Symphony Towers, was a perfect choice for this wedding. It added it’s upscale and modern city feel- and prevented need for added transportation. With all accounted for, this beautiful wedding went without a hitch!
The florals, brought simple elegance to each table at the reception. Each table held a centerpiece of green or burgundy orchids in a vase. Surrounding the vases were rings of more color: green orchids, or burgundy orchids mixed with similarly colored roses, and Scabiosa for added texture.
The city at times can provide a lot of grey tones, the use of bright pinks and greens brought the room to life. When using bright colors we suggest simple arrangements and decor options to keep the decor looking upscale and modern. This was a truly unique wedding that stands out with an urban feel with plenty of color.
The cake, made by BabyCakes San Diego, was a perfect compliment to the decor of this wedding. Florals topped the cake instead of a traditional cake topper, and the cake table had simple decor and reflected the feel of the classic city lines with the bright contrast of color. Simple, yet beautiful orchids were used to bring life and more color to the room. And of course, what is a wedding without plenty of candles adding to the romantic scenery.
We were so honored to help plan Heather and Sasha’s San Diego City Wedding. We love customizing the colors and look to reflect the couple, and this one was truly off the charts in it’s artistry. Best of wishes to the happy couple.
